A Joyful Year in Review + What We’re Building Next

Dear Joyful Art Center Community,

As we wrap up the year, we just want to say thank you.

Whether you’ve been with us for years, joined us for your very first class, stopped in for Open Studio, celebrated a birthday with us, or popped in for a workshop or event — you are part of what makes Joyful Art Center such a special place.

Because of you, this year was full of creativity, connection, and growth.

A Big Milestone: Joyful Art Center is Now a Nonprofit

This year, Joyful Art Center officially became a nonprofit organization — and we’re still so grateful (and honestly, a little amazed) by the support and encouragement we’ve received as more people learn this news.

Becoming a nonprofit helps us do what we’ve always believed in:
making art accessible for all — young, old, and all abilities — while expanding the ways we show up for our community.

It means we can grow programs with intention, expand access through sponsorship and donations, and build opportunities that support creative confidence and belonging — not just in our studio, but beyond it.

What You Helped Make Possible This Year

Because of our community (YOU), we were able to:

  • Welcome new families and continue growing with long-time families
  • Offer a wide variety of classes, camps, workshops, and Open Studio sessions
  • Host community-centered events that brought people together through creativity
  • Strengthen our programs for kids and teens
  • Take meaningful steps toward expanding accessibility through sponsorship and support

Most importantly: we watched hundreds of students create art they were proud of — and build confidence along the way.

What We’re Building Next

As we look ahead, we’re excited to grow Joyful Art Center in ways that serve our community even more deeply.

Here are a few areas we’re focused on this year:

Expanding School Programs

We want to bring Joyful Art Center into more schools through:

  • after-school clubs
  • partnerships with teachers and parent groups
  • enrichment programs that combine art, culture, and learning
This allows us to reach students who may not otherwise have access to creative opportunities.

Growing Teen Programming

Teens need safe, welcoming spaces now more than ever — and we’re committed to building that here.

We’re working toward expanding:

  • teen classes and creative skill-building
  • low-pressure teen hangouts and community nights
  • programs centered on belonging, self-expression, and creative confidence

Strengthening Adult + 55+ Offerings

Adults deserve creative connection too. We’ll be offering more:

  • beginner-friendly workshops
  • creative wellness experiences
  • 55+ programming that supports joy, learning, and community

Thank You for Being Part of This

Joyful Art Center exists because of community — families, students, customers, supporters, and partners who believe creativity matters.

If you’ve taken a class, attended an event, told a friend about us, left a review, shared a post, or supported us in any way… thank you. Truly.

We can’t wait to create with you in the new year.
