Exciting Creative Adventures Ahead at Joyful Art Center

Exciting things are happening at Joyful Art Center this week!

Check out our upcoming classes and events:

​4- Week Cosplay Creation Course for Teens • March 1, 8, 15, 22 - Partnership with City of Vacaville - Register on the City of Vacaville site.

Perfect for beginners and experienced cosplayers alike—join us and make something amazing!

  • Design & Plan – Sketch your costume and choose materials.
  • Thrift & Discover – Find budget-friendly costume pieces on a guided thrift store trip.
  • Build & Create – Sew, craft, and assemble your unique cosplay with expert guidance.

​ART PLAYGROUP IS BACK on Friday Mornings at 10:30am!

  • A time for children (ages 2-6) and their grown-ups to explore engaging sensory experiences together in a nurturing environment.
  • Not an instructed class—teachers set up invitations to create and play, encouraging exploration and community building.
  • Activities include slime, doughs, clay, collage, painting, water play, and more—dress for mess!

Creative Social (FREE Adult Class)

  • Meets on Tuesday 4 PM – 7 PM​
  • Work on an unfinished project or choose from studio options while connecting with fellow creatives

​Mixed Media Art Journaling Open Studio (Teens & Adults)

  • Drop in anytime between 5 PM – 8 PM to explore visual storytelling with mixed media
  • Enjoy weekly creative prompts in a relaxed and inspiring space—bring your own journal or use one from the studio

CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

ART LAB • Mixed Media Art History (Ages 4+)

  • Theme: Art Through The Ages
  • 75-minute sessions exploring art history through mixed media
  • Projects include watercolor, acrylic, pastels, collage, and more
  • Four age group classes: Ages 4-6, 7-8, 9-10, & 11+

3-D ART LAB (K-6th)

  • A 3D take on Art Through The Ages
  • Hands-on projects using clay, sculpture, and mixed media collages

DIGITAL ART LAB (1st-6th Grade)

  • Where creativity meets technology!
  • Explore digital art tools and techniques in a fun, engaging environment
  • Two available times: Wednesdays at 1:00 PM & 4:00 PM

PRESCHOOL ART LAB (Ages 3-6)

  • 45-minute creative exploration class
  • A safe space for little ones to explore, make messes, and create
  • Drop-in available or book the whole session at a discount

CREATE WITH ME (Ages 18 months - 3 years + caregiver)

  • 45-minute interactive art class for toddlers and their grown-ups
  • Includes sensory play, story time, and guided creative activities
  • Drop-in available or book the whole session at a discount

DRAWING LAB

  • Learn techniques from renowned illustrators like Rebecca Sugar, Yuko Shimizu, and Kadir Nelson
  • Explore character design, comics, and graphic novel storytelling
  • Open to beginners and experienced artists looking to grow their skills
