A NEW YEAR OF CREATIVITY BEGINS!

September is almost here, and we're getting ready to kick off a brand-new year of creating at Joyful Art Center!

This year, our students will explore art through nature, science, storytelling, creative problem-solving, artist inspiration and hands-on making—with new themes throughout the school year.

And our first adventure begins in the FOREST!

SEPTEMBER: FOREST EXPLORERS

Throughout September, students will look closely at the plants, animals, textures, patterns and habitats found in forests and use those discoveries as inspiration for their artwork.

Depending on their class, artists might explore forest themes through drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, 3D design and STEAM challenges.

The projects may be different, but the goal is the same:

MORE THAN AN ART PROJECT

At Joyful Art Center, we don't want every student's artwork to look exactly the same.

We use our monthly themes as a starting point for discovery while teaching students about art materials, techniques, artists, the Elements of Art and Principles of Design, and connections to the world around them.

Students get opportunities to make choices, solve problems, experiment and develop their own creative voice.

That's where the learning happens.

Whether your artist loves to draw and paint, build things, experiment with materials, or figure out how things work, there's a place for them to create with us.

Planning to use charter school vouchers this year?

Don't forget that all homeschool students need to complete a new Homeschool Registration Form for the 2026–27 school year, even if you attended Joyful Art Center last year.

Once you've found the classes you'd like, it's a great time to get those voucher requests submitted to your charter school!
